Atlantic get warm air
(AP) — A cold front is expected to move through much of the eastern third of the country Saturday, bringing rain to areas east of the Mississippi River.
Warmer air is expected to accompany this front into the Northeast, where temperatures are expected to rise into the 40s and 50s in southern New England.
Snow is expected in higher elevations from Wyoming through Colorado.
A warm front is expected to approach the Northwest later Saturday, bringing with it light to moderate rain to western parts of Washington and Oregon and snow to higher elevations.
Dry weather is forecast for the rest of the West, with temperatures in the 30s and 40s expected in the Rockies and in the 40s and 50s in the Northwest.
Parts of the Southwest could get temperatures in the upper 80s.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Friday ranged from a low of minus 31 degrees at Whitefield, New Hampshire, to a high of 89 degrees at Gila Bend, Arizona.
